Winter 2026/27: key dates

According to the ski area’s official schedule, winter season 2026/27 runs from 1 December 2026 to 11 April 2027 inclusive; the operator may change the dates depending on snow and weather — banskoski.com. Promotional season passes are on sale until 1 December 2026. If you want a place for the whole season, start viewings in October–November so you have time to compare and agree terms before the season starts.

Seasonal vs annual rent: who pays what

| Question | Seasonal let (≈ Dec–Apr) | Annual let (12 months) | |------|------|------| | Monthly price | Often higher, or a lump sum for the season — negotiable | Often lower per month in exchange for a 12-month commitment | | Deposit | Agree the amount and the return date in writing | Same; agree when and on what conditions it is returned | | Contract | Written, with exact move-in and move-out dates | Written, with early-termination terms | | Electricity and water | Check whether the meter is on a household or commercial (“industrial”) tariff — some complexes use commercial tariffs (see e.g. this imot.bg listing) | Same; with electric heating, winter bills can be the biggest cost | | Maintenance fee | Write down whether it is included in the rent or paid by the tenant | Same | | Internet | Included? In whose name is the contract? | Same |

How the maintenance fee and the electricity tariff change the maths is covered in Maintenance fees and household electricity in Bansko. For long-term rent prices versus buy-to-let, see Long-term rent vs buy-to-let in Bansko.

Short checklist before signing

1. Inventory — a dated list of furniture and appliances with photos, signed by both sides. 2. Meter readings — photograph electricity and water meters on move-in and move-out day. 3. Termination terms — notice period, and what happens to the deposit if you leave early. 4. Who pays what — electricity, water, maintenance fee, internet — spelled out in the contract. 5. Heating — how the flat is heated and what last winter’s bills were (ask for invoices). 6. Keys, parking, pets — put the arrangements in writing.
